Our facilities are located in north Fort Collins. Just 15 minutes from CSU campus, it includes indoor and outdoor riding arenas, heated cross ties, and a large round pen. We take pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment for both our students and horses.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider, Sage Equestrian has a program that fits your needs. We offer private riding lessons where we focus on you. We can teach the basics, advance knowledge, or build confidence.
We also offer a range of horse training programs from starting under saddle to fine tuning your show horse.
Tracy has over 40 years of horse experience in and out of the show pen. With a degree in Equine Science she now spends her time running Sage Equestrian and her life coaching business, S.E. Coaching. She specializes in beginner riding, show level techniques, and starting yearlings.
Madi has been working with and showing horses for 13 years. Trained in both western riding and show jumping, she offers a wide range of knowledge for our students. She specializes in horsemanship fundamentals, beginner riding, and training client horses.
Merlin is the oldest member of our team. He joined our family in 2014 as our show horse. Now, at 19, he has graduated to lesson grandpa. Merlin is our gentle giant who loves cookies, rolling in the mud, and annoying his brother, Simon.
Simon joined the family in 2016 as a flashy 11 year-old. He is the tallest on our team at 16.2 hands, and yet a favorite among the students. Simon loves to pretend to be grumpy but really wants nothing more than head scratches and cuddles. Come meet this handsome old man, and you will fall in love.
Scout is the newest addition to Sage Equestrian! What he lacks in height, he makes up for in personality. He is as surefooted and as trusting as they come, making him the best beginner buddy. Scout has been teaching riding lessons for over 12 years. Now retired from jumping and the show ring, he spends his days getting brushed and taking care of our students. We lovingly refer to him as Uncle Scoot and it fits.
Elley is the youngest member of the team. Still an active partner in Madi's riding career, Elley isn't as often seen in lessons. But her smarts and willingness to move her feet make her the perfect horse for intermediate riders who are looking for more of a challenge. And her buckskin coat makes her a favorite with everyone!
